I Will Trust You

This morning I woke up with a song on my mind, Chris Tomlin – Sovereign. So I brought up YouTube and played the song. It was just what my ears needed to hear. That confirmation of trust in the Lord. At the end of the song, he sings,

“God whatever comes my way, I will trust you.”

This brings to mind a verse from Paul,

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. (‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬ ESV)

Being content in all circumstances is difficult, and in some cases can seem impossible. But nothing is impossible for our sovereign Lord.

Trusting in the Lord in all that comes our way is the best way to start every day!

Making Decisions

Every day we are facing decisions. Sometimes very difficult ones. Earlier this week I was faced with question about my career, and required an answer on my part. It was a difficult one to contemplate, but after advice and wisdom from others, much prayer about the situation, I finally reached an answer.

The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps.

Proverbs 16:9

We were blessed with a mind that was designed to make decisions. When facing uncertainties, bring them to the Lord. If you don’t feel led one way or the other, it might just mean that he is asking you to make that decision, and trusting in him that he will guide your steps.

Everything We Need

It seems that every day I wake up and my eyes are opened to the abundance that our Lord provides. Although my circumstances haven’t changed, my perspective of everything around me continues to change, and I see more and more of what God has already freely given:

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

– 2 Peter 1:3

We have “everything we need for a godly life”. That is a powerful truth! So it is my prayer that when I feel lacking, or missing something in my life, that I realized my perspective in that moment, and instead move my eyes to focus on the cross. Jesus Christ has given us everything we need, himself!
